Year 5 & 6 had a fantastic day on Monday immersing themselves in our World War 2 topic. The children took part in a range of activities and workshops focusing on the role of the Women’s Land Army and how they supported the war effort. The children had opportunities to learn about the jobs women did in the Women’s Land Army, the conditions they lived in and the pay they would receive. The children also learnt about rationing and had an opportunity to use pence and shillings to buy and sell food items.
