Distance Learning - Summer Term
Distance learning for Years 5 & 6
This week we have been looking into the future and trying to predict what will happen to our local area if we continue to ignore climate change. The red areas could become sea if the amount of greenhouse gases being created continues to rise. As a household, what do you do to help our climate? Do you walk to the local shop? Do you buy local produce? Do you wear a jumper inside instead of turning the heating up?
The children have thoroughly enjoyed measuring different angles on their tables.
Our Nandos homework for the Spring Term.
We have been trying to predict which countries produce the highest CO2 emissions. We have also thought about our own routines and how much CO2 we emit into the atmosphere.
Today we visited Mrs Wright’s class to share our stories we have written with the Year 1 and 2 children.
In dance we have been learning the Haka.
Tips on reducing our carbon footprint

The Greenhouse Effect
We have been discussing the Greenhouse Effect in our Climate Change topic. We planned and carried out an investigation to show how the Greenhouse gases affect the temperature.
Maths - statistics
In Maths, we have been reading, interpreting and drawing line graphs. We have looked at temperatures and rainfall from around the world and drawn our own line graphs. We had to be really precise when plotting the data.
The children were amazing when work with St John's Cymru: lots of very mature questions and very sensible when practising their CPR skills.
Please check that they can remember DR ABC.
This children have enjoyed experimenting with circuits. They tried to complete various challenges to see what they could remember from Year 3! I was very impressed!
